Inbound.org - Redesigning the biggest online marketing community
OVERVIEW As the Lead UX designer, I revitalized community's design and supported a 200% growth towards the 100.000 members target.
PROJECT BRIEF HubSpot's co-founder Dharmesh Shah had a clear goal: bring Inbound's design and user experience to the next level while growing 15% MoM.
STRATEGY & METHODS We started with baby steps and overhauled the UX/UI of the entire product in 7 months.
The design process consisted of two parts:
Conducted user interviews and analyzed metrics and stats to identify key improvement areas with my colleagues.
Created user flows, wireframes, mockups, UI designs, and supervised the implementation.
I also pioneered a new set of initiatives:
Created accurate product metrics, set up.
Implemented the NPS score philosophy across the team.
The UX design process was a collaborative effort that included user feedback and direct inputs from marketing, and development team.
I integrated all the ideas and different viewpoints into polished and consistent design solutions. We finished 2015 with 15% MoM growth - surpassing 100,000 members.
Other wins and responsibilities:
I collaborated directly with the founder, Dharmesh Shah, to shift the culture from traffic to WAU (Weekly Active Users), spiking engagement by 50%.
I conducted over 20 user interviews at the Inbound 2015 conference in Boston. The findings helped the team refocus on 20% of the features that brought 80% of visits and engagement.
